Technology - Twitter

I am following several professionals in the education field on Twitter. I am also following professional organizations and friends interested in educational topics as well as in the Library Science world. I've learned different interesting things from many of their tweets and links. I'm still learning how to use it, as I am new to Twitter, but it is very user friendly. I learned that the tweets are not time consuming as they are short and to the point and can be read in matter of seconds. These professionals are experts within their different fields, therefore, all of the suggested links and sites found within their Tweets are trustworthy and based on practice, evidence, and research. Go ahead and read what caught my attention. I believe you will find many of these Tweets and links beneficial to your personal life and or career. They have helped me with my homework!

There are so many amazing tweets, but I personally liked the following tweets from Kathy Schrock, Linda W. Braun, Tony Vincent, Buffy J. Hamilton, The Daring Librarian, and Jim Lerman.

I'm following Kathy Schrock on Twitter at @kathyschrock. Feel free to explore her website by clicking on this link +Kathy Schrock. She focuses her learning and sharing of information on technology trends and tools. On May 14, 2015, she tweeted,
"Here are a bunch of Web-based creation tools!"
www.schrockguide.net/online-tools.html
I like this tweet because it led me to the link about teaching, learning, and creating with online tools. It provided a list of web 2.0 tools and clearly explains each one. This information will sure come in handy as I return to my teaching job this upcoming school year.

I am also learning from Linda W. Braun's tweets. I follow her at @lbraun2000. On May 29, 2015, she tweeted,
"The @yalsa blog Tweets of the wk focus on teen success & learning" www.yalsa.ala.org/blog/2015....the-week-may-29-2015/
http://yalsa.ala.org/blog/2015/05/29/yalsablog-tweets-of-the-week-may-29-2015/

I really enjoyed reading about the list of tweets from the past week of interests to teens and the library staff that services them.

I then moved on to read Tony Vincent's Tweets at @tonyvincent. Feel free to explore and learn more from Tony by following this link +Tony Vincent. I really enjoyed reading the following two Tweets.
The first tweet took me to a site about integrating technology strategies. The second Tweet, I found beneficial for my own personal use when I search the web using the Chrome browser.

Tip Tuesday! Using the Chrome browser? Say “OK Google” and what you want to search for. (Enable this in Settings → Search)

I continued exploring Twitter and followed Buffy J. Hamilton at @buffyjhamilton. She tweeted the following Tweet:
Buffy J. Hamilton (@buffyjhamilton)
What Can You Do With Canva? wp.me/p2X20N-gC via @LibDesignShare

I'm saving this Tweet for sure, as a future Librarian, I will need to create flyers and this looks perfect for creating graphics. I learned that Canva is s a web-based graphic design tool. If you need to learn to create graphic designs, this is the tool to learn to use. Mark it.....save it!

I then came upon The Daring Librarian on Twitter and I followed her at @GwynethJones. I loved her Tweet about the letter to Principals. It will sure help me as a future Librarian at the time of applying for a Librarian's position. It's geared towards principals, but future Librarians can benefit from reading it or anyone on a School Personnel Hiring Committee. This is the Tweet:

The Adventures of Library Girl: An Open Letter To Principals (Before You Hire A New School Librarian)

Enjoy! http://www.librarygirl.net/2015/05/an-open-letter-to-principals-before-you.html I also followed Jim Lerman at @jimlerman. He focuses on different technology applications and websites. If you're learning about technology apps save the link. I just learned more on creating
videos and uploading them onto YouTube and I sure wished I had read his Tweet before I
uploaded an introductory video to YouTube for one of my Graduate courses. Feel free to
explore the link following his Tweet about 5 YouTube tricks users probably didn't know about.
He Tweeted:
Jim Lerman (@jimlerman)
5 YouTube Tricks You Probably Didn’t Know ~
I emailed some of these Tweets from Twitter to my personal email address. I then copied the  Tweets from my messages inbox and pasted them directly into this Blog.
